About Jim Harper, insurance professional

Jim Harper and his wife Charlene lost their home to fire on May 4, 1992. As parts of his house were still smoldering and Charlene was trying to salvage items from the house, Jim recalls the couple's Allstate insurance agent showing up with a check to cover immediate expenses - assuring them the company would take care of them.

Memories of that day ran through Jim’s mind as he prepared to open his own insurance agency in 2005. "That was a very important day in our lives - and one of the reasons why we have our own insurance agency today. We want to be there for people when they need us."

"We've been in the Twin Cities a long time and both of our daughters have grown up in the Wayzata school district," Jim said. "That has allowed us to know a lot of people in our community and surrounding areas, and Allstate has always been active in the communities in which we serve."

Jim previously spent 25 years working for large corporations and developed a strong background in finance, business and marketing, and he feels those skills will help in the couple's goal of helping people protect their financial life.

"We want to help people identify risks and help them stay focused on the big picture," he said. "We are not in this business to get rich, we are in this business to help others," he said.

Because of their desire to help others, Jim said the company he now represents (Allstate) is a great fit for them.  "Our company’s brand is how we differ," he said. When people see Allstate and our logo (“Good Hands”) they recognize us immediately. "It's a willingness to go above the call of duty and to be active in the communities in which we serve."

Jim can help you understand the importance of, and the relationship between, protecting your assets and meeting your future financial goals. Jim will also help you plan your future life stages before you go through them - such as buying and insuring a home, saving for college, insuring young drivers, saving for retirement, buying a boat or other recreational vehicle, insuring a business, and much more. Jim wants to help during this transition period. The key is - to start.
